New Years present

Hopefully everyone had a fabulous 2007. It was just alright! for moi. It’s another year gone down the line of timelines. On the side note, thinking about timelines reminds me of a few predictions people have had about the life line of this beloved earth…and it’s inevitable demise into extinction via the exciting and one time champion of all champions in the pantheon of annihilators…the Armageddon!…and honestly, I’m kinda curious what that’s like and if the Mayans are right…it won’t be too long till some of us can see it at the same time. It would be something for the whole family as Lewis Black would’ve said and I love that guy so it’s all good.

But since we still got some time on our hands, let’s just say F this and enjoy the music while we still have it. So to kick off the new year, I’ve started this blog and now I’m going to share with you a few songs from the 3rd show of Rhythm Rue International Music Show. The file is about 70 mb… it’s worth it and it’s nice.

I love Music….who doesn’t?

So, I’ve got some sweet tunes i’m gonna try to make work on this first posting. I hate computers but I love them because they make my world a lot easier sometimes. It’s all good. Here will be a few tunes from the first shows and hopefully once I’ve acquired enough space on here, I can post entire shows to download or RSS feed.

The first tune is from the album A Rough Guide To African Blues. The song is “La Tumchi Anni” by Mariem Hassan. Mariem Hassan is a great singer from Algeria who sings music from the Western Sahara. Her people are Saharawis living in exile on Algerian lands. The women singers are the pillars of the refugee camps. They articulate the social life, raise the children, humanize their living conditions until they are able to elevate their community beyond mere survival during the years of their exile.

Second tune is from the Lebanese artist Siham Assif. Now I gots no info on her for you cause noudi brought her to the station so I’ll give it time until she can edit her info on here but since a few listeners were curious about her song, I’m just gonna post it. Enjoy…and to download right click on the link and open in new tab and download it from zShare and it will be all yours.
